ARLINGTON, Texas — The Bruce Bochy era is over in Arlington.

The legendary manager and the Texas Rangers mutually parted ways Monday following a disappointing 81-81 campaign that saw the club miss the playoffs for the second straight season. Bochy's contract was expiring, and the club is likely looking for a reset -- both on the roster and in the dugout -- after a now two-year World Series hangover.

Bochy, for his part, has already been linked via the rumor mill to his former club, the San Francisco Giants, who fired manager Bob Melvin.

But there's likely no hard feelings between Bochy and the Rangers. His legacy in Texas was cemented in 2023, when he led the club to its first championship.
