An experienced health care executive will switch from the medical field to helping place people in homes when she joins Habit for Humanity of Greater Fort Wayne.

The nonprofit organization today announced that Melissa McKown will become its new CEO, effective Monday.

McKown has more than 20 years of leadership experience in nonprofit operations, strategic planning, and community impact. She is "poised to help Habitat serve more families across Greater Fort Wayne," a news release said.

McKown is joining the local Habitat for Humanity after an 18-year career with Parkview Health, where she most recently was vice president of employer solutions.
