TAYLORVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) -- A Taylorville man was sentenced to nearly two decades years in prison on Tuesday after taking a plea deal related to child pornography charges.

Last November, 62-year-old Phillip R. Windell was arrested by the Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigations for possessing and disseminating child pornography. State Police had begun an investigation the month before after learning that Windell was allegedly in possession of and was disseminating child sexual abuse material.

Originally, Windell was facing six counts of child pornography. But, Christian County court records indicate that a plea deal was negotiated with Windell. He pleaded guilty to one charge of child pornography and the other five counts were dismissed.
