An Edinburgh bar that was forced to close their doors when the building was deemed 'unsafe' due to subsidising, is set to reopen over a year later.

The Prom Bar, located on Lindsay Road, first shut its doors in January 2024 after the tenement block at 4 Anchorfield was suddenly evacuated . Residents were told the building was 'unstable' and the part of the road linking Leith to Newhaven was closed while an investigation went underway.

Residents were given an hour to collect their things and find somewhere else to stay while the businesses below temporarily closed.

Now, 21 months later, the beloved local is ready to officially reopen- but this time under new management.
