The City Council Tuesday extended Todd Bouey’s term as interim general manager overseeing the retirement system for Los Angeles city workers, as the process to confirm his appointment as the permanent head of the department continues.

The council extended Bouey’s term for an additional six months in a 13-0 vote with members Marqueece Harris-Dawson and Adrin Nazarian absent during the vote. There was no discussion on the matter.

The Los Angeles City Employees’ Retirement System Board of Administration voted last week to make Bouey the permanent general manager. That nomination still needs to be considered by the council’s Personnel and Hiring Committee before the matter comes to the full council.
