Millersville University was one of several colleges around Pennsylvania targeted with a false report of an active shooter Sunday afternoon.

According to a statement the college released, Lancaster County-Wide Communications received an anonymous call about 4:08 p.m. about an active shooter at Wickersham Hall, incorrectly calling it the library.

Police checked Wickersham Hall and McNairy Library and found nothing. Officials determined it was a “ swatting” call , in which someone sends police and emergency services as a form of harassment or a prank.

MU said it would share the information with federal authorities as similar incidents are investigated.
