Odus Evbagharu, the former chair of the Harris County Democratic Party, announced his bid for the Texas House of Representatives on Tuesday. He is seeking to replace Houston-area state Rep. Jon Rosenthal, a fellow Democrat who is running for a seat on the Texas Railroad Commission .

Evbagharu previously served as a chief of staff for Rosenthal, and he's listed by the state Democratic Party as its treasurer.
