CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A 44-year-old Cross man was arrested Sunday by Charleston County deputies for an alleged child sex crime.

Karl William Wade was charged with sexual exploitation of a minor in the first degree. He is currently in custody at the Al Cannon Detention Center.

The Berkeley County Probation and Parole has placed a hold on him. According to an affidavit, Wade attempted to pressure a teenager into sending him sexually explicit photos.

The South Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force assisted the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation.
