CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Minimum wage employees in Ohio will see an increase in pay beginning in 2026, according to the Department of Commerce.

Beginning Jan. 1, minimum wage will increase from its current $10.50 to $11 per hour for non-tipped employees and $5.50 per hour for tipped employees, the department announced.

Tipped workers, those who receive more than $30 a month in tips, must receive at least the new minimum wage when payment, cash and credit tips are combined.

Those under the age of 16 will be paid no less than the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour.

The federal minimum wage will remain the required rate for businesses that gross less than $405,000, as well as 14 and 15-year-old workers.
