KEOKUK, Iowa (KWQC) - A man wanted on drug and gun charges is accused of leading police on a chase that began in Keokuk and ended in Missouri.

A drug investigation led to a search of his house on Aug. 12 that prompted a warrant for his arrest after marijuana growing equipment and guns were found, according to a Lee County Narcotics Task Force news release.

An Keokuk police officer said Robby L. Alberts, of Keokuk, was seen on a motorcycle at South 7th and F streets on Sept. 18, according to court documents. The officer followed on US 61/136 at 70 mph on the 45 mph highway.

The chase at times exceeded 100 mph and ended with his arrest on Highway 27 in Missouri, the officer said in the arrest affidavit.

He was booked on eluding, marijuana and gun charges at the Lee County Jail on Monday.
