CONNECTICUT (WTNH) — The U.S. government could shut down at midnight on Wednesday.
A potential shutdown would impact some Connecticut workers and residents. Gov. Ned Lamont (D-Conn) said that the state has enough cash on hand to offset some of the immediate financial impacts, but that if the shutdown was prolonged, people could feel it.
One of the groups that would be impacted the most would be those on a state food stamp program that supports mothers and children.
Other impacts could come in the air, with air traffic controllers and TSA workers potentially having to work without getting paid.
