MARYSVILLE, Calif. —

Following a transnational drug operation earlier this year that left a Marysville police officer and a suspected drug dealer dead in a shootout, officials on Tuesday released body camera footage from the shooting.

While presenting that video, Yuba County District Attorney Clint Curry stated that both officers who shot and killed 60-year-old Rick David Oliver were legally justified and acted in self-defense. One of the two officers, Osmar Rodarte, also died shortly after the confrontation that lasted fewer than 10 seconds.

On March 26, task force NET 5 carried out a multi-county drug bust following years of investigating an operation. But because of the large scope of how many search warrants agents sought to perform, Curry said the task force asked several agencies
