GRAND BLANC TWP., MI — The American flag has always stood as a powerful symbol in the United States and throughout the world.
Now, in the wake of yet another shooting turned mass killing, it stands tall above the charred church and its ashes at the epicenter of Sunday’s tragedy in Grand Blanc Township.
Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer ordered that flags be lowered to half-staff to honor the victims, families and all impacted in the community following a mass killing the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc Township on Sunday, Sept. 28.
The flag in front of the church was not lowered immediately, most likely due to the ongoing investigation at the site. On Tuesday, Sept. 30, two days after the mass killing, the flag has been lowered to half-staff.
