Dolly Parton , who was set to receive the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the Oscar organization’s annual Governors Awards in November, will not attend the ceremony in person.

Sources confirmed Tuesday that Parton will miss out on the event, which is set for November 16 at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Ovation Hollywood.

The news comes as Parton earlier this week said she had to cancel several December concert dates in Las Vegas, saying in a statement Monday that she has “been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I need to have a few procedures.”

Parton had been set to play six shows at Caesars Palace from December 4-16. That run has now been moved to September 2026.
