WATERTOWN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A man in Watertown has been arrested and charged with 50 counts of animal cruelty after 25 cats and kittens, 18 puppies and seven adult dogs were seized from his home by police.
According to the Watertown Police Department, officers searched a home on Cobb Street at around 7 am. on Tuesday in relation to an animal hoarding investigation.
50 animals were seized and the homeowner, 52-year-old Martin Oliver was arrested and charged with 50 counts of cruelty to animals. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
The search was done with help from police in Wolcott, Southington, Bristol, Woodbridge, West Hartford, North Haven and Branford, as well as State of Connecticut Animal Control and Southbury Animal Control. The animals received treatment from R
