BUXTON, N.C. (WAVY) — Five unoccupied homes have collapsed in Buxton Tuesday afternoon, including three on Cottage Avenue and two on Tower Circle Road, according to the Cape Hatteras National Seashore.

It marks 17 homes that have collapsed on Seashore beaches in the past five years.

Earlier this month, a home collapsed at 46227 Tower Circle Road in Buxton.

As of 3:30 p.m., the Seashore was aware of five home collapses that took place between 2 and 2:45 p.m.: • 46001 Cottage Avenue • 46002 Cottage Avenue • 46007 Cottage Avenue • 46209 Tower Circle Road • 46211 Tower Circle Road

The Seashore said it was not aware of any injuries associated with the home collapses.
