HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) - A semi-truck driver from Edwards County is dead following a possible medical issue leading to a crash in Knox County.
The Knox County Sheriff's Office says a 48-year-old male from West Salem, Illinois was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Deputies were called to a single-vehicle accident on US 41 south in the area of Schenk Drive. Officials state the truck was carrying coal when it crossed the median and both northbound lanes of US 41 before crashing into an embankment and coming to rest in a corn field on its side.
Officials say the driver was the sole occupant.
