PEORIA, Ill. -- A Chillicothe man has been indicted after he stole a forklift from the Peoria Civic Center.
Dillon T. Howard, 30, was indicted for theft on Tuesday, according to Peoria County Court records.
At 12:25 p.m. on Monday, April 21, Peoria Police Department officers were called to the civic center on a report that a forklift had been allegedly stolen from the loading dock.
When officers arrived, they found the forklift had been abandoned about half a mile away at the 200 block of Romeo B. Garrett Avenue and identified Howard as the alleged suspect.
Howard was found and booked for theft in the Peoria County Jail.
Court records said a warrant has been issued for Howard.
