KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A former Independence pastor is heading to prison for crimes he committed a decade ago.
Virgil L. Marsh pleaded guilty to second-degree statutory sodomy and first-degree child molestation during a hearing on Sept. 29.
Court documents accused Marsh of abusing two girls under the age of 14 between 2011 and 2018. The girls attended his Independence church at the time.
Independence police arrested Marsh outside his residence on Dec. 5, 2023, but the investigation into child abuse claims against him began months earlier.
