Update: The police have searched the area and found no explosive device, as reported at 11:30 a.m. Normal campus operations will resume, classes will continue as scheduled and employees can return to offices.

The University of Alaska Fairbanks issued an alert of receiving notification about a bomb in the Elvey Building (the Geophysical Institute) on Tuesday. Police have blocked off the area and don't believe there is immediate danger.
Classes are canceled until noon at the Troth Yeddha’ Campus. Classes at the Career Technical College and all other off-campus sites will continue as scheduled. Offices west of and including the University of Alaska Museum of the North are closed until noon.
