State legislators appeared on campus at University of Alaska Fairbanks on Monday speaking at a town hall organized by the Graduate Student Workers Union titled “Kill the Cuts.”

This is part of a national movement under the same name, originating from United Academic Workers (UAW) who oppose the federal funding cuts to university research and programs. UAF was not involved with the organization of the town hall.

At UAF, the Schaible Auditorium was almost full with students, faculty and community members. Auditoriums of people at UA Anchorage and UA Southeast zoomed in for the town hall, along with other virtual participants from across the state.
