The first meeting of the special, nonpartisan property reassessment committee may have left Delawareans with more questions than answers.

Initially rescheduled to ensure the presence of Tyler Technologies – the vendor responsible for conducting the statewide property reassessment and New Castle County’s first reassessment in over four decades – very little new information was uncovered at the Sept. 30 hearing.

While lawmakers hoped to have specific questions answered – from what strategy Tyler used to conduct this past reassessment, what took place at the county level and what options Delawareans have now – company representatives and county officials were often unable to provide answers.
