The Indianapolis Colts’ third-year head coach accepted the blame for his defense having only 10 players on the field when Matthew Stafford hooked up with Tutu Atwell for a game-winning 88-yard touchdown in Sunday’s 27-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

“It shouldn’t happen,’’ Steichen said Monday. “It starts with me as the head coach.

“ . . . it’s on me.’’

Defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo disagreed with his superior.

“Yeah, it’s something that certainly I take full responsibility for,’’ he said Tuesday. “I know Shane had said something, but that’s on me. And as a group, I take full responsibility for that play.
