For the second week in a row, there’s unexpected news of the Philadelphia Eagles placing one of their players on injured reserve.
Last week it was Nolan Smith.
This week it’s Charley Hughlett.
The Eagles placed their 35-year-old long snapper on IR and signed free agent Cal Adomitis, according to a report from NFL insider Tom Pelissero.
Adomitis, a Pittsburgh native, originally signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Pitt in 2022. He appeared in 49 games with Cincy over the previous three seasons before losing a long snapper battle to rookie Will Wagner this summer.
The extent of Hughlett’s injury is currently unknown. He’s struggled to stay healthy since last season, when he missed 12 games with the Cleveland Browns. Hughlett also missed some time i
