PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — Palm Beach County commissioners voted unanimously on Tuesday to continue a contract with the Homeless Coalition of Palm Beach County.

A push to save four more years of a contract with the county on funding for the coalition has locked in $150,000 annually that helps the coalition pay for its staff.

"Had you not gotten that money, what would have happened?" asked WPTV's Joel Lopez.

"It could have ended up that we had to dissolve, or the board would have had to find private money," CEO Alexandria Ayala said.

Ayala said the county funding for staff is only 5% to 6% of the coalition’s overall budget after Vice Mayor Sarah Baxter raised concerns on how the money was used.
