HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WETM)--- Community members and officials from around the area celebrated the grand opening of a new congregate meal site in Horseheads.
The new site is intended to help older adults make healthier choices and socialize outside of their homes.
"The congregate sites are special to us because we do serve people in their homes, which is a need and something that we do regularly. Congregate sites are a little special because they bring people together," said Katie Boland, Meals on Wheels Executive Director, Chemung County.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place at General Sullivan's Lodge, and local officials sat with seniors for the first meal at this location.
