RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The DMV is hitting the breaks for long lines which comes to one specific group of customers — first-time teen drivers.
17 private driving schools have been given the green light to give road tests to some student drivers.
"So it can be people from here in Benson or it can be people from all across north Carolina,” said Joseph Forthofer, the General Manager of Benson Driving School, one of the 17 certified locations.
The employees of Benson Driving School are just about ready to take appointments, for teens taking their "level two limited provisional license" test.
That’s the license for a 16- to 17-year-old's, able to drive from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
