ASCENSION PARISH, La. (WAFB) - The man shot by a Louisiana State Trooper in Ascension Parish Tuesday morning has been identified by family members as 34-year-old Brandon Nicholas, a married father of four from St. Gabriel.

A relative told WAFB that Nicholas was rushed to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales, where he was pronounced dead. The relative said state troopers at the hospital would not let them see the body.
