MANHATTAN — THE REINSTATEMENT of an ICE agent on who was recorded on video last week allegedly assaulting a woman in front of her children at 26 Federal Plaza in Manhattan is “outrageous,” Rep. Dan Goldman, who represents Western Brooklyn and lower Manhattan, and New York City Comptroller Brad Lander said in a statement Tuesday.

The two officials have issued an interjurisdictional oversight inquiry to Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem over her department’s decision. The officer had been relieved of duty pending an investigation after a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson described his conduct as “unacceptable and beneath the men and women of ICE.”
