COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The Board of Voter Registration and Elections of Clarendon County has fired its executive director.
Princess Lang was hired to the position on Aug. 18 before the board voted unanimously to fire her Monday night.
Chairman of the Board Edward Gamble said in a statement to WIS that the board “felt like Ms. Lang was not the right person for the job.” Gamlbe also cited South Carolina code, which says that the director “serves at the pleasure of the board.”
As of Tuesday afternoon, the board has not hired an interim director, but Gamble said he anticipates a board meeting being called soon to begin the hiring process for a new director.
This is a developing story. Stay tuned to WIS for the latest details.
