CHARLESTON, WV (WVNS) - A public investiture ceremony was held for the swearing in of Supreme Court of Appeals Justice, Thomas Ewing.

Born and raised in Fayette County, Justice Ewing served as a Circuit Court Judge from 2018 to 2025 following his appointment by then-Governor Jim Justice. He was the first Fayette County native to serve as a justice with the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals. "Being from Fayette County, growing up there, living there now, it's a big honor to represent the county as the first justice on the court from the county," Justice Ewing told 59News. "I appreciate that and recognize that as an honor."
