RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - A potential government shutdown is looming. Which means those who plan on flying the friendly skies could be affected, including those in the Richmond area.

Travelers at Richmond International Airport weighed in on whether they’re worried at all.

“It’s going to affect a lot of people in a negative way who are already being affected. So, this is not a good situation to be in again,” Martha Brown said.

“You know, so many things, I don’t even have the words, honestly. To be truly honest with you, I forgot about the shutdown until this exact moment,” Jackie Stockton said.

During the shutdown in late 2018, TSA agents and Air traffic Control officers began calling out.

That’s because they have to come to work regardless without getting paid.
