CLAY COUNTY, Neb. (KSNB) - The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is launching an expanded enforcement initiative for this year’s harvest season.

This is in direct response to two deadly crashes in two weeks on heavily traveled roads.

On Monday morning, a 15-yer-old girl, identified in a GoFundMe page as Briana Sheperd, died from injuries sustained in a crash .

The crash happening on 42nd Street and Heartland Avenue at the Adams/Clay County line.

Two weeks prior on September 15, two Hastings children were killed after a pickup collided with a farm silage truck.

The crash happening at an uncontrolled intersection of Saddlehorn and Riverview Avenue along the county line between Adams and Clay.

The victims in that crash were identified by family online as 7-year-old Ryder and 10-year-old
