SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - After 30 years, the United States Department of Agriculture announced it’s eliminating a report, which was designed to gauge the impact of food insecurity across the country.
According to the USDA , the Household Food Security Reports were first introduced in 1995 under the Clinton administration. Each year, the goal is to gain a clearer understanding of the number of Americans living with food insecurity.

According to the 2023 report , more than 13 percent of American homes are experiencing food insecurity. The 2024 report is scheduled for release in October, marking the last one.
