MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Shelby County’s Criminal Court Clerk became a victim of crime for the second time in two years Monday afternoon.

Clerk Heidi Kuhn posted on Facebook that she was threatened by someone with a knife outside her office, which is located in the Shelby County Criminal Justice Center at 201 Poplar Avenue.

In a comment posted to a Shelby County commissioner's Facebook page, Kuhn said the individual was a homeless person exhibiting mental health challenges.

She described the incident as a frightening situation.

In March 2023, Kuhn was carjacked while pumping gas at a gas station on Germantown Parkway in Cordova. Kuhn said four masked men pulled up next to her in two cars, and one of them jumped in her vehicle and drove away with the gas hose still connected.
