ROCKFORD (WREX) — The 2-A girls golf Regional at Mauh-Nah-Tee-See Club in Rockford saw summer-like conditions on the final day of Sept. and the golfers brought their best to the challenging course. Boylan senior Demi Hampilos took home Medalist honors, shooting a 74 to beat the rest of the field by five strokes. Hononegah's Alicia Wallin tied for second with two other golfers. She helped the Lady Indians edge Boylan by one stroke in the team standings to claim the last spot in next week's Sectional. Crystal Lake Central Co-op won the team title. Guilford freshman Rory Sweet finished fifth individually to advance, while Harlem's Bella Luetke also earned a spot in next week's Sectional.
