A traffic collision involving a vehicle and a bus in La Quinta sent three people to the hospital on Tuesday evening, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to the crash around 6:17 p.m. on Sept. 30 near Washington Street and Eisenhower Drive. When they arrived, deputies found both a vehicle and a bus with "collision damage," according to department spokesperson Lt. Deirdre Vickers.

The bus driver and one passenger were transported to a nearby hospital and are reported to be in stable condition. The bus involved belonged to the SunLine Transit Agency, according to KESQ. The driver of the vehicle, however, sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital.

Four additional passengers reported no injuries.
