An Aspen man faces multiple felony charges after allegedly attacking another man with a knife while armed with a handgun and in violation of a protection order.

Police arrested Reese Castiglioni, 39, early Saturday after officers on a routine traffic patrol downtown were flagged down by three men, ages 20, 22 and 46. One of them knocked on the patrol car’s window and told officers, “This guy just tried to stab me,” according to a warrantless arrest affidavit. The statement was not verbatim, the affidavit noted.
