SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The Savannah Chamber of Commerce is spreading the word about a big vote in November.

It’s the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax or SPLOST.

Leaders across Chatham County hope it will fund infrastructure and public safety projects.

Savannah Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Bert Brantley says this November Election can be easy to forget for some.

“This isn’t a major election,” said Bert Brantley, President/CEO, Savannah Chamber of Commerce.

Back on the ballot this year is the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax or SPLOST.

It’s a vote that happens every six years and has been voted on in Georgia since 1985.

He says at the very least, people should know what they’re voting for.
