CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - Just one day after the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) announced their Human Trafficking Initiative, investigators rescued an underage girl from a sex trafficking operation in Chatham County.

The operation was taking place from a hotel near the I-95 and Hwy 204 corridor.

According to the Sherriff’s office, they have been searching for the suspect since last week when the victim was rescued.

Tuesday evening, CCSO announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with their investigation.

Though the office hasn’t released the suspect’s identity, Chatham County Sheriff Richard Coleman says he will host a press briefing Wednesday at 3 p.m. with more information.
