The Forever One Memorial paying tribute to those affected by the Oct. 1, 2017, mass shooting on the Strip remains on schedule for a mid-2026 groundbreaking, project officials said.

“We’ve got a lot of momentum in fundraising,” Jan Jones Blackhurst, a former Las Vegas mayor and chair of the 12-member Forever One Memorial board of directors, said of the $45 million project. “The memorial gives individuals a way to remember what that night meant to them, how we grew from it, how much more compassionate we are as a city, how much safer we are as a city, and for people to remember that Las Vegas is a lot more than just a place where people come to party — it’s a city with a soul.”
