NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has a new four-legged colleague in the office.
The TBI introduced Marvel, the newest tool in fighting cybercrime in Tennessee.
According to the TBI, Marvel is a 17-month-old black Labrador Retriever with an ability to sniff out electronic storage such as hard drives, flash drives, and micro-SD cards. The TBI said those devices could hold critical evidence, especially in child exploitation cases.
The TBI said Electronic Storage Detection K-9s can be important to investigations because they can easily be overlooked with human eyes. Some of the devices can be hidden in cracked walls, clothing, ceiling tiles, boxes, dirty laundry, open fields, water, or in the garbage.
