Hurricane Imelda is expected to be near Category 2 strength when it passes close to Bermuda late today.

Swells generated by Hurricane Imelda and Hurricane Humberto continue to impact Florida and the U.S. east coast.

Life-threatening surf and dangerous rip currents are expected to continue this week.

Hurricane Imelda is continuing to strengthen as it moves away from Florida, according to the National Hurricane Center.

The storm is forecast to bring hurricane-force winds, damaging waves and flash flooding to Bermuda Wednesday, Oct. 1.

Imelda is not only stronger Wednesday morning, with winds of 90 mph, but is moving much faster. On Sept. 30, Imelda was meandering along Florida's coast at 7 to 9 mph. Wednesday, it's moving at 20 mph.
