CLEVELAND — The trial for murder suspect Bionca Ellis -- the 34-year-old woman accused of fatally stabbing 3-year-old Julian Wood outside a Giant Eagle in North Olmsted last year -- is expected to begin with jury selection starting on Wednesday morning.

After a hearing earlier this week, Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge John Russo rejected the defense's motion to sequester the jury for the trial.

"The case before this court is not a capital case, thus sequestration is not required once the matter is submitted to the jury for consideration," according to Russo's decision.

Russo's ruling states the court "will regularly and specifically admonish the jury not to discuss the case with anyone nor to read or view any media accounts of the trial."
