Colorado Authorities Open Probe Into Hunter S. Thompson’s Death — 20 Years Later

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is taking a fresh look at the death of Hunter S. Thompson after receiving a request from his widow.

Thompson’s death will be reviewed over 20 years after he died in 2005 from what the investigation concluded was a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The writer’s last note was published in , for which he had written, seven months after his death.

“No More Games. No More Bombs. No More Walking. No More Fun. No More Swimming. 67. That is 17 years past 50. 17 more than I needed or wanted. Boring. I am always bitchy. No Fun — for anybody. 67. You are getting Greedy. Act your old age. Relax — This won’t hurt,” Thompson wrote in the note
