CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) - Halloween events are planned for the month of October in Carbondale.

The city announced the month will be filled with traditions, thrills and new events for all ages.

The first event kicks off on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Varsity Center with a special double feature screening of Ghostbusters and The Substance.

Other events include classic Carbondale Halloween traditions such as The Pumpkin Glow on Thursday, Oct. 16, through Saturday, Oct. 18, The Great Carbondale Pumpkin Race on Saturday, Oct. 18., the Halloween decorating contest and Halloween trick-or-treating from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31.

In addition to these events, the city said Carbondale Halloween and SIU Homecoming will join forces for the Carbondale Halloween Homecoming Music Street Fest
