CHICAGO — When media incubator Open Television started 10 years ago, it was a research project housed at Northwestern University meant to uplift local storytellers and creatives.

Now, OTV has grown into a nonprofit that platforms more than 500 titles from around the world and has supported thousands of creatives as they pursued careers in Hollywood. It’s also released a 200-page book and 10-episode podcast series diving into the organization and its pillars of “sustainable, intersectional storytelling.”

The book is photo-forward and “shines a light on how OTV’s past decade has been dedicated to nursing these early seeds … that are now blooming into thriving ecosystems of bold, uncompromising art,” according to its description.
