DALLAS — Senate race newcomer James Talarico raised more than the previous Democratic nominee for Senate, Colin Allred, according to reports from both campaigns.
Talarico raised $6.2 million for his campaign in just three weeks, his campaign said in a press release. The haul marks the most money raised in a single quarter by a Senate candidate from any party in Texas history, his campaign said.
Talarico received donations from 125,000 individual donors, the release states.
His Democratic opponent, Allred , raised more than $4.1 million, his campaign said in a press release. Allred boasted more than 100,000 donations, averaging $32, the release said.
