Tomato has been dethroned by chicken in the battle for Britain’s best soups.
A survey showed that Brits love a bowl of warming soup but our taste buds have changed with the long standing favourite tomato no longer our number one.
Cream of chicken is now the nation’s top go-to soup and today (October 1) is the date when we consider soup season to officially begin.
In second place was cream of tomato, while beef and vegetable took the third spot. Roast chicken and vegetable came in at number four
