KOKOMO, Ind. -- A Kokomo woman has sustained life-threatening injuries after a reported collision on Tuesday evening, according to officials with the Kokomo Police Department.
At around 8:24 p.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to the intersection of Washington and King Street regarding a vehicle striking a pedestrian.
When officers arrived, they found a pedestrian, identified as a 53-year-old woman from Kokomo, who had been reportedly struck by a Chevrolet Impala driven by a 17-year-old.
A news release from the Kokomo Police Department said that the Impala was traveling northbound on Washington Street. The 17-year-old reportedly braked before the King Street intersection but was unable to avoid a collision with the woman, who was crossing the roadway from west to east.
